The problem

High-value ticket resale runs entirely on trust, and the listings had to be granular enough to buy from directly.

What I did

  • Website for a certified reseller of Wimbledon Debenture tickets|Deep green premium identity with aerial stadium photography|Trust signals: 4.9/5 Trustpilot rating, 200+ reviews, no hidden fees|Centre Court and No.1 Court ticket listings with match-by-match detail

The brief

Wimbledon debentures are a specific instrument: a security that grants the holder a seat for the duration of the debenture, and which can be legally resold. That legality is the entire proposition, because the secondary market for Wimbledon tickets is otherwise full of listings that are void.

Why legitimacy is the whole design problem

A buyer arriving at this site has almost certainly already seen a ticket resale site that turned out to be untrustworthy. They are looking for reasons to leave, and the site has to answer the doubt before the buyer articulates it.

The certified reseller status is stated plainly and early, with what it means in a sentence rather than as a badge. A badge asks the reader to already know what it signifies; a sentence tells them.

The Trustpilot rating and review count are shown because they are independently verifiable and because in this category a buyer will go and check. Nothing self-awarded appears anywhere near them.

Listings by match

Buyers do not shop for a Wimbledon ticket in the abstract. They want a specific day, usually a specific court, sometimes a specific match. The listing structure is therefore built around the fixture rather than around the seat.

Each match day has its own page with the available seating, which means a search for a particular day lands on the right page rather than on a general listings page requiring a filter. Those pages are indexable, which is where a large share of this traffic comes from.

Pricing and availability

Debenture prices move with demand and availability changes quickly. The site treats price as data rather than as text in a page, so a change updates everywhere it appears at once. Sold seats disappear from listings rather than remaining visible with a note, because a listing that cannot be bought wastes the visit.

The purchase route

High-value transactions in a category with a trust problem should not end in a bare checkout form. The route is an enquiry that a person responds to, which suits both the value of the transaction and the buyer’s need for reassurance before committing.

The build

WordPress with matches, seating categories and listings as structured content. Availability is a field rather than a status in prose, so a listing can be hidden, shown or marked sold without editing page copy.

Design

Restrained and green-led, drawing on the tournament’s own visual language without imitating it in a way that would imply an official connection the site does not have. That line matters legally as well as ethically.

What the client can manage

Matches, listings, availability and pricing. Adding a match creates its page, its listings structure and its place in the calendar.
